A woman in her seventies has died following a house fire in Kirtlington, Oxfordshire.

Thames Valley Police confirmed they were supporting Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and South Central Ambulance Service at the scene in Oxford Close on Monday (17 November).

The fire is now extinguished, and there is no wider threat to the public at this time, according to the police.

Residents were asked to keep windows closed and avoid the area to allow emergency services to continue their work.

A road closure is currently in place on Oxford Road.
