Cherwell District says they're yet to receive planning application for a £300m Oxfordshire theme park, despite a public consultation being held.

Puy du Fou- a historical themed amusement park in Western France- declared interest in building a 300 to 400 acre site in Cherwell last year.

If it goes ahead, it'd be built near the M40, North of Bicester.

But, despite consulting local residents about the plan in July, a councillor has said:

“On Puy Du Fou from our side, we’ve not received an application from them."

It could create up to 2,000 new jobs at hotels, suppliers and other local businesses from its first year of opening.

The theme park company intends to open two new destinations in the world before 2030, with the UK remaining a preferred location.
