Man stabbed in Oxford student housing

Emergency services called to James Wolfe Road after a stabbing left a man seriously injured inside student accommodation

A man in his twenties is in hospital in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed at a student accommodation building in James Wolfe Road, Oxford.

Police were called just after 7pm on Sunday by South Central Ambulance Service, following reports that a man had been stabbed.

Thames Valley Police confirmed a scene watch remains in place at the student accommodation as officers continue to investigate.

Detectives are treating the incident as attempted murder.

A spokesperson said: “We are working at pace to locate and arrest those believed to be involved.

“At this time, we believe this was an isolated incident and that the offender and victim are known to each other.”
