Silverstone museum, which marked its fifth anniversary in 2024, say they're hoping to see further success in the new year.

Since opening in 2019, Silverstone Museum has drawn visitors from around the world with its immersive displays on the history of British motorsport, interactive exhibits, and unique memorabilia collections.

The Silverstone Museum has numerous exhibits where visitors can try out activities from operating a wind tunnel, piloting a Wellington bomber, taking part in a pit stop and climbing into a replica Grand Prix car. Visitors can also see whether they have got what it takes to commentate on a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Silverstone Museum is located trackside at the iconic Silverstone circuit near Brackley, allowing visitors access to see the legendary racetrack during their visit.

And we're told a number of new exhibits are planned, along with developments and changes involving activities which are currently laid on at the attraction.

The year is set to mark 75 years of the Formula One World Championship and its birthplace at Silverstone, with exhibits and features.

CEO Phil Lawrie told us:

"The approach we'll be taking is to re-enforce success. I think the audience appreciate the sorts of things we have and we do. We're constantly refreshing programmes and stories to tell involving different cars, bikes and manufacturers.

"It's what keeps people coming back and bringing in new visitors too. The museum has succeeded in getting its word out. It can take a long time for a museum but people are beginning to learn more widely about us being here."

The museum features some of the most iconic cars and bikes that have played a part in the 75-year history of Silverstone circuit including Mansell’s iconic “Red 5”, an E.R.A from the first ever Grand Prix held at the venue in 1948 and Barry Sheene’s 1979 Suzuki motorbike.
