The owner of the Shark House in Headington has hit out at the council in a row over renting the property.

Magnus Hanson-Heine's dad made the adjustments to the house in the 80s, and Magnus has rented it out for around 5 years through various sites.

He says the council are telling him a change of use is need is needed to continue renting for short stays, requiring planning permission.

Magnus is disputing that and says whilst the appeal is on-going, and could take around a year, the house is still available to stay at.

The city council told us they don’t consider the area the shark house is to be a good for short let rentals.

The city council tell us Oxford has over 800 properties let out as short lets. They say those are needed for people to live in and not as holiday accommodation.
