Public urged not to approach man wanted in connection with Steventon kidnap and assault

Thames Valley Police is searching for a man wanted in connection with an assault in Steventon.

45-year-old Robert Burden, of Oxfordshire, is wanted to speak with officers after an incident where a man was forced into a vehicle on Castle Street on Tuesday 20 May.

Burden is described as white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, short black hair, full black beard and brown eyes. He is known to the Kidlington area.

The victim in his 40s needed hospital treatment but has been discharged.

Investigating officer Detective Constable David Hughes said: “We are appealing for the public’s help in tracing Robert Burden.

“If you see him, please do not approach him, instead call 999.

“However, if you have information as to his whereabouts then please add it to our online reporting page quoting reference 43250248915.

“Or if you do not wish to speak to the police you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, who will take your information 100% anonymously.”
