Thames Valley Police is investigating an unexplained death after a body was sadly found near Oxford.

The body of a 28-year-old woman was discovered at Shotover Country Park around 6.45am on Thursday March 21st.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Wojciech Spyt said: “Firstly, my condolences go to the woman’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

“We are investigating the circumstances of her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

“The park itself is closed to the public while we manage the scene, which is likely to remain in place for some time.

“I’d ask the public to please avoid the area while our enquiries are ongoing.

“There is no threat to the wider public but please speak to a uniformed officer if you are worried or concerned.

“I would ask anyone who was in the park on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning to please contact us."
