Man found unresponsive on Bicester main road

Thames Valley Police cordoned off a large area in Bicester.

Banbury Road was shut between Lucerne Avenue and Blake Road from the early hours of this morning, but has since reopened.

We’re expecting an update this afternoon

A man was found unresponsive in the area at 4.08am today (15 July).

The man was taken to hospital for treatment, but sadly he later died in hospital.

The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported.

The death is being investigated as unexplained but not suspicious.

Thames Valley Police force is making a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), because their officers had prior contact with the man during a stop and search in the town at 1.30am today (15 July).
