Police name Abingdon murder victim

Thames Valley Police have named a woman who died at Sherwood Avenue in Abingdon on Friday - prompting the launch of a murder enquiry.

They were called to reports of 40 year old Rachael Vaughan being seriously injured on Friday (30th May) around 6.30am, but despite the best efforts of paramedics she died at the scene.

Robert Richens, aged 34, of Luther Street, Oxford, has been charged with her murder and is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates court today.

Thames Valley Police say their thoughts are with Rachael's family and friends.
