Oxford Brookes University will be hosting it's 17th annual science bazaar this weekend on Saturday 3rd February between 11:30am and 4pm.

The Bazaar is a fun, free event for all the family designed to encourage and inspire the exploration of science.

This year the science bazaar will be running a relaxed, autism-friendly, early-opening session between 9:30am-11:30am which will allow visitors a quieter festival experience.

There are over 50 different activities for children to enjoy including Chinese calligraphy, Chinese paper cutting and five animal tai chi.

Included in the 50 different activities will also be 10 bookable work shops and five challenge rooms which are similar to escape rooms.

There will be plenty of guests for family to interact with including comic book workshops led by Neil Cameron author of Mega Robo Bros.

The Brick People will also be at this years event giving kids the chance to get stuck in and learn about; colour blindness in sport; growing food in unusual places; and parasites!

Oxford University will also be involved, who will be bringing a vaccine lab providing a chance for some hands on white coat science experience.

Dr Ellie Beaman is the event manager for the Oxford Brookes science bazaar had this to say about the event: One of the main benefits is that it's an opportunity for kids to learn in a fun and accessible way that's not in school environment.

"We're a community university so to open our doors and share it with our community is a top priority for us."
