Witness appeal following assault in Oxford

Two men in their twenties were threatened with a wine bottle

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Oxford.

At around 8.25pm yesterday (20 November) in Waitrose on Botley Road, the victims, two men in their twenties, were threatened in the store with a wine bottle, with one of the men being assaulted by a shopping basket.

The victims were not injured in the incident.

The offender is described as a white man, 6ft tall, of a slim build, brown hair, brown scruffy beard and had spots and a red bruise on his face.

The offender was wearing a blue knee-length coat with a fur hood and blue skinny denim jeans.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Asztalos, said: “An investigation has been launched and I ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to please come forward."
