Lots of places in the South including Oxfordshire were treated to the spectacle of the Northern Light's last night.

People have been sharing their pictures of the colourful display in our skies overnight on social media.

They're usually best spotted from the North of the UK - but can be seen across the country under severe space weather conditions, and have been visible in the UK a few times already this year.

It's is caused by particles from the Sun hitting the Earth's atmosphere, which in turn causes the amazing colours we see in the sky.

Whilst many in Oxford, Kidlington and across the county were able to see the green pink and purple colours of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) others had something else spectacular to see.

Those near Stonehenge saw an incredible showing of the Perseid Meteor Shower.
