Monty Python star to receive honorary degree at Oxford

Sir Michael Palin is to receive an honorary degree from Oxford University.

The actor, comedian, writer and presenter was knighted in 2019.

Sir Michael, who's just returned to TV travel documentaries where he's heading through Nigeria on Channel 5, is one of six people to be included for 2024.

Other included in the June 19th ceremony will include British engineer and businessperson (David) Warren East CBE, computer scientist Sir Demis Hassabis, CBE, and Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who is a Nigerian economist and the seventh Director General of the World Trade Organization also features.

There's also a place for Anoushka Shankar, British-Indian-American musician, sitarist, composer and producer, and Canadian cardiologist.
