It comes after a police investigation
Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, two men have been jailed in relation to a series of thefts and fraud in Bicester.
Christopher Brock, aged 49, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to one count of theft from motor vehicle and three counts of fraud in a hearing at Oxford Magistrates’ Court.
He was subsequently jailed for four months.
Michael Sestanovich, aged 42, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing on 9th October to three counts of fraud.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment.
Between 7am and 8am on 22nd September, Brock broke into a vehicle in Bicester and stole a purse and children’s coats.
He also used a stolen bank card fraudulently on a number of occasions at various locations in the town.
He was arrested on Sunday, October 13th, and charged the same day.
Sestanovich also used cards fraudulently and was charged with the offences on 8th October having been arrested the day before.
Investigating officer PC James Peachey of the Bicester & Kidlington Problem Solving Team said: “This was a great team effort to ensure that evidence was gained quickly and Brock was promptly arrested and charged.
“Brock had no choice but to plead guilty due to the evidence gathered against him.
“Sestanovich also pleaded guilty to the offences he was accused of carrying out.
“These sentences shows that these offences will not be tolerated.
“The public has really helped with this investigation, providing CCTV footage to review, some of whom were not victims themselves, but who assisted in providing key evidence which allowed us to bring the offenders to justice.”
