Man charged over car stuck in pedestrian tunnel

It happened over the weekend in Oxford.

A mans been charged with driving with alcohol concentration above prescribed limit after his car got stuck on a pedestrian path in Oxford.

Aaron Brickley, of Ticknell Piece Road, Charlbury got his car stuck in the pedestrian tunnel leading to Botley Road over the weekend.

Emergency services had to intervene to remove the car which became wedged in the path.

The tunnel had to be closed causing a diversion via Mill Street footbridge and issues for people with mobility issues.

The Botley Road closure is due to railway bridge replacement works, which began in January 2023 and closed the road in April 2023.

It's due to remain closed until October 2024.

2\4 year old Brickley has been bailed to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on 30 July.
