Man charged in connection with stabbing in Banbury

A 46 year old from the town is due before Oxford Magistrates today.

A man's been charged following a stabbing in Banbury.

Thames Valley Police say Niko Gjika, aged 46, of McKeevor Place in the town, has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article.

The assault happened at the junction of Butchers Row and High Street at 12.20am on Sunday.

A man in his twenties was found with stab wounds and was taken to hospital, where police said on Monday he is in a stable condition.

Gjika was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today.
