Man arrested in connection with a series of sexual assaults in Oxford

He was was arrested by Thames valley police on Friday.

Thames valley police say that the man, who's 20 has been arrested in connection with assaults that happened in Speedwell Street, Mill Street and Oxpens Road on Thursday evening.

Since the arrest, they have also been made aware of two separate incidents of sexual assault, both happening on Thursday night on Becket street.

These incidents are thought to be linked to this series due to similar circumstances, time and location.

The suspect remains in custody and anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

A statement on Thames valley police website said:

Detective Sergeant Pete Warne, of Oxford CID, said: “We have arrested a man in connection with these sexual assaults and are enquiries are ongoing.

“We have also received two further sexual assaults around the same time as the other offences with similar circumstances so they have been linked to this series.
