Man arrested for threatening woman on bus to Wantage

A man from Didcot is in custody over the incident on Sunday.

A man has been arrested after a woman was threatened with a blade on a bus to Wantage.

At around midday Sunday 6th October, the victim, a woman in her thirties, was travelling on the X35 bus from Didcot along the A417 Reading Road into Wantage Market Place when she was threatened by a man.

A 30-year-old man from Didcot was arrested Monday 7th October, on suspicion of threats to kill, threaten a person with a blade/ sharply pointed article in a public place and use threatening/ abuse/ insulting words/ behaviour to cause harassment/ alarm or distress.

He is in police custody at this time.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the public order incident in Wantage.

Investigating officer PC Tyler Lewis said: “We are appealing for information following this incident.

“We are asking anyone with information to please call.

“Additionally we are ask anyone with mobile footage to get in touch with the force in case it has captured something which may assist this investigation."
