A section of the A34 southbound has been closed following a crash involving three lorries in the early hours of this morning.

National Highways reported that two of the lorries were severely damaged and spilled their loads onto the road.

The closure affects the southbound carriageway near Abingdon, between the Marcham Road Interchange (A415) and the Milton Interchange (A4130). Traffic is being diverted off the A34 southbound at the Botley Interchange.

Due to the ongoing clean-up and vehicle recovery operations, National Highways has warned that the road is expected to remain closed for an extended period.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, seek alternative routes, or consider delaying their travel plans.
