Leader of city council congratulates Oxford United following historic promotion into the Championship

The leader of Oxford City Council has congratulated Oxford United - following their historic promotion into the Championship.

Councillor Susan Brown said it's been 25 years since they last played in the second tier and there have been some very dark days along the way, which she says makes it all the sweeter.

A promotion parade will take place on Monday evening in Oxford City Centre, shortly before 6.

It will start at The Plain and travel over Magdalen Bridge and along the High Street to Oxford Town Hall.
