Today (Sunday 25th February) is the last day kids at Silverstone Museum can try to beat Fernando Alonso's 2005 pole-setting lap around Silverstone Circuit - in their simulator cars!

The CEO of Silverstone Museum, Phil Lawrie, has been telling us about that - and what a boost it is for the sport that the confirmation of the British Grand Prix is.

The race has been confirmed for the track near Banbury until 2034.

"It's fantastic news for Silverstone - another ten years of undoubtedly history-making racing.

"It's great for the area. The British Grand Prix brings huge numbers and obviously that boosts all of the local economy."

As for the challenge to beat Alonso's time, Phil explains:

"He set an amazing time back in 2005 and we decided to put that up as a benchmark as a standard if you like and see if sim-racers could, using the same car, with the same configuration on the same circuit, beat Alonso's time."
