An inquest has been opened today for the three people, including two firefighters, who died in a huge fire in Bicester last month.

Firefighters, Jennie Logan, 30, and Martyn Sadler, 38, as well as local business owner Dave Chester, 57, died in the blaze which broke out on the evening of May 15th.

Oxfordshire Coroners Court heard they all suffered multiple traumatic injuries, following post-mortem examinations.

The bodies were formally identified by family and colleagues hours after their deaths.

Senior Coroner, Darren Salter, has adjourned the inquest until November 25th

Two other firefighters remain in a stable condition in hospital after suffering serious injuries from the incident.

Thames Valley Police has previously said, “our initial investigations suggest that all three sustained injuries in line with those typically caused by the collapse of part of a structure.”

Investigations are continuing to work out the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the sad deaths.
