Oxfordshire's Fire and Rescue Service were called to Oxford Ice Rink at just after 9.30am (Tuesday August 20th) following reports of a chemical leak.

Four fire engines from Rewley Road, Abingdon, Kidlington and Slade Park fire stations attended the leak, which was in the plant room, and away from the public area.

It's now been safely contained, although as a precaution a 100m cordon was put in place.

Fire crew members are remaining on site for the time being.

Thames Valley Police have now withdrawn resources from the area though the ice rink is still shut.
