Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault and other offences in Berinsfield.

At around 7.30pm on Friday April 12th, a blue Honda Civic stopped by Co-op Food in Fane Drive after an altercation involving three men inside the car. Two men got out of the Honda and continued to fight on the street, brandishing knives and threatening each other. One of the men then entered the Co-op and the other got back in the Honda and drove off.

A man in his twenties received hospital treatment for minor injuries but has since been discharged.

A 22-year-old man from Wantage was arrested on suspicion of affray and taken into custody.

Investigating officer Detective Constable David Hughes said:

“We are carrying out an investigation following this incident.

“At this stage of the investigation, I would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident and officers are working to identify and locate those involved.

“However, I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“Equally, if you were driving in the area and have a dash-cam or have a CCTV camera, please check the footage and contact us if it shows anything that you think may assist our enquiries."
