On Sunday the 21st April just after 11pm Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue say the Wantage Fire Station responded to a fire in the open in West Hanney.

On arrival the crew were faced with a large stack of Hay Bales well alight.

Due to the nature of the incident and where the Hay bales are located, Thames Valley Police have closed Winter Lane, West Hanney in both directions.

They say it will remain closed until it is deemed safe enough to reopen.

Police say they are investigating it as arson. They're currently trying to identify the land owner and any possible witnesses.

Fire crews will also remain on scene.
