GWR and Cross County running very limited service today

Check before you travel by train. That's the message in Oxfordshire and beyond as Aslef Union train drivers take fresh strike action with an overtime ban today Monday and Tuesday.

GWR and Cross County will have a very limited service today with no service on Chiltern Railways.

There are no long distance trains running - with only a handful of services operating. GWR is also carrying out engineering works while the strike is on.

James Davis is from GWR: "There will be no long distance trains. That's the trains that would run from London, through Reading and Oxford and towards Hereford and Worcester, for example. We're in effect able to run a very limited service. That's because we've chosen, with our colleagues from Network Rail, to carry out some vital engineering work while the strike action is taking place."

ASLEF say drivers haven't had a salary increase since 2019 and has called for talks - the Government says there's a pay offer on the table.
