Police renew appeal for witnesses to A40 collision

Both drivers were seriously injured and taken to the John Radcliffe

Police investigating a road traffic collision on the A40 are making a renewed appeal for witnesses.

The collision occurred at around 6.20am on Monday morning between a black MG ZS and a white Citroen Berlingo van on the A40 between Swinbrook and Burford.

The MG driver, a man in his thirties and the driver of the Citroen, a man aged in his fifties, were seriously injured and are being treated in the John Radcliffe in Oxford.

Investigating officer PC Matt Stansfield of the Roads Policing Unit said: “This collision occurred early this morning on a busy stretch of the A40.

“Sadly, both injured people remain in hospital in serious conditions, and I am re-appealing to anybody who witnessed this collision to come forward.

“I know that numerous people stopped at the scene to offer help and first aid, and we are very keen to speak to any of those who have not yet contacted police.
