Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue say a blaze is now under control at a farm building in a village near Banbury.
Fire crews were called late on Thursday night (12th December) to what the describe as a 'significant property fire' at Rickfield Farm, in Milcombe near Banbury.
Fire crews say the building itself is a multi-use building of different business types, including furniture restoration and storage, approximately 40m x 45m.
At its height, they had the following in attendance:
• 40+ firefighters
• 8 fire appliances
• 1 water unit from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue
• 1 water unit from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue
• 1 water unit from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue
• 1 hydraulic platform
• 1 command unit
Residents locally are urged to keep windows and doors closed at this time.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue have since scaled the response down to 4 fire appliances and 1 water unit. A spokesperson says it was a really challenging incident due to needing large amounts of water, and made more difficult by the roof entirely collapsing meaning we were only able to fight the fire from outside the building.
No one was involved and there were no injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the fire will begin when it is fully extinguished. It's unclear at this stage how it started.
The crews worked hard throughout the night and were supported really well by the specialist water units from Northamptonshire and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue.
Fire crews will likely be there at least throughout today (Friday 13th December)
