Elderly woman dies following crash in Abingdon
Police are appealing for witnesses of the incident which happened on Spring Road on Thursday (14 August).
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Abingdon.
At around 12.04pm on Thursday (14 August), there was a crash on Spring Road at the junction with Winterborne Road, involving a blue Audi Q5 and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, an 87-year-old woman from Abingdon, was taken to hospital where she sadly died from her injuries on Saturday (16 August).
The woman’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Edward Crofts from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Firstly, I want to offer my deepest condolences to the family of the woman who sadly died in this collision.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this take place, to please get in touch with us.
“I am also appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to please check their dash-cam footage, or door-bell footage, in case they captured the collision or the moments leading up to the collision, this includes the movements of the pedestrian and the vehicle."
