Driver pleads guilty over fatal Marcham crash

A 19 year old from Oxfordshire charged in connection with a fatal crash which killed three teenagers, has appeared at Oxford Crown Court today.
Thomas Johnson, aged 19, of Stainswick Lane, Shrivenham, entered a plea of guilty over three counts of causing death by dangerous driving.
It's after the shocking crash which happened in Marcham on the A415 in June 2023.
Thames Valley Police revealed driver Thomas Johnson, had been speeding at the time of the crash and also been using nitrous oxide, known as balloons, before the crash.
The gas wasn't illegal at the time, only being made illegal as a Class C drug in November of 2023.
Police say he was driving a BMW at nearly 100mph at the time of the crash in a 30mph zone.
Ethan Goddard and Daniel Hancock who were both 18-years-old, and Elliot Pullen, who was aged 17, all tragically died in the collision.
Johnson who was 18-year-old at the time of the crash, suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision which happened at 12.10am. He's been sentenced to 9 years and 4 months in prison.
He is thought to have only left hospital last December.
