Car crashes into Costa Coffee in Carterton, injuring three people

Emergency services responded after a vehicle drove into the front of a café on Burford Road

Three people have been injured after a car was driven into a Costa Coffee branch in Carterton.

The incident happened on Burford Road. Thames Valley Police said officers and other emergency services were called to the scene and the road was closed.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are currently responding to an incident in Carterton. A vehicle has been driven into Costa Coffee in Burford Road, injuring three people.

“Emergency services are at the scene and the road has been closed. We would advise the public to avoid the area at this time.”

Police confirmed they do not believe the crash was intentional.

“We do not believe this was a deliberate act on behalf of the driver,” the spokesperson added.

The public has been asked not to share images or video footage of the crash site on social media. Anyone with relevant footage has been urged to contact police.
