Car set on fire in Banbury

Thames Valley Police say the incident was 'reckless and dangerous'

A witness appeal has been launched after a car was set on fire in Banbury.

Thames Valley Police were called to Ironstones in Hardwick at around 2am on Tuesday (22 April).

The vehicle set alight was a red Vauxhall Astra and the fire spread to a nearby white Citroen Relay van.

Investigating officer PC George Wiffen said: “This reckless and dangerous incident of arson should not be underestimated. It is a dangerous criminal act and can cause devastating consequences.

“I would like to hear from anybody who has dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell camera footage that has captured the incident to please contact us.
