Cannabis factory found in Kettering
Police found 600 plants with an estimated street value of £200,000 at a property of Grafton Street.
Officers from the Kettering Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant on Wednesday, November 29 after a tip off.
Once inside the property, officers discovered the cannabis plants in various stages of growth, across three first floor rooms and inside the loft.
Kettering Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Matthew Rock said: “Firstly, I would like to thank members of the community who raised concerns about activities at the property, which led us to the discovery of this cannabis factory.
“People may think that the production of cannabis is a victimless crime, but what they don’t realise is those at the top of the chain exploit vulnerable people and put them to work in these factories, using them to make money with no thought for their welfare.
“Tackling and preventing drug harm is a matter of priority for the Force and working together with our partners and communities, we will continue to cause disruption to the drugs supply chain in Kettering.
“This case is a great example of how we can work together with our partners and communities to tackle the issues affecting their local area and I would urge local residents and businesses to keep reporting suspicious activity to us.”
The plants have been seized and the factory dismantled.
