Arrest made in Oxfordshire murder investigation

As part of an ongoing Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder investigation in Oxford.

A spokesperson for the force said:

"The incident occurred on Sunday 20 July in James Wolfe Road, when a man in his twenties was stabbed and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.

"A 24-year-old man from Birmingham has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody."

Lead investigating officer, Detective Inspector George Atkinson, said: “This arrest marks a significant development in our investigation, and I want to thank members of the public who shared our public appeals.

“We are still appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“Your information, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital to our enquiries.”
