Thames Valley Police say they want to reassure the public about an arrest that occurred in Camp Road, Upper Heyford, yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 22nd October).

Armed officers were in the area to arrest a man on suspicion of possession of a firearm, being in concerned in the supply of Class A drugs as well as criminal damage.

He was arrested and is now in police custody.

Rumours surfaced on social media stating that Heyford Park School was in lockdown, but officers say these are not accurate.

They add that they informed and worked with the school before and after the arrest, due to the deployment of Armed Officers.

Police have been carrying out patrols in the area to reassure the public.
