Appeal for witnesses after man stabbed in Bicester
It happened on Sunday afternoon
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Bicester where a man was stabbed.
Officers were called just after 5pm to reports of a fight in progress in Bicester Shopping Park, on Pioneer Way, near to the Pure Gym.
They say a man found with a stab wound to his torso was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
Detective Inspector George Atkinson, from CID, said that no arrests had yet been made:
“This incident occurred in the early evening on Sunday involving two men.
“One of the men has sustained a stab wound to his abdomen and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
“Although we are in the early stages of this investigation, I believe that the victim and offender are known to each other, and work is ongoing to identify and arrest the offender.
“I therefore do not believe there to be any wider risk to the local community, although I do appreciate the concern incidents such as this will cause.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while our investigations continue, and I would urge anybody who has any concerns, to please speak to any of our officers at the scene.
“I would also appeal to anybody who was in the area and believes that they witnessed this incident to please contact Thames Valley Police.
“If you have dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage that may assist this investigation, please get in touch."
