An inquest will be held into the death of Harry Dunn
The 19 year old was killed by a US diplomat driving on the wrong side of the road near to Brackley
The lawyer for the family of Harry Dunn, from Charlton near Banbury, say the new Labour Government have been in touch over an inquest into his death.
Harry was killed by Anne Sacloolas a US diplomat driving on the wrong side of the road outside RAF Croughton in 2019.
Labour have promised before they came to power last week in the General Election, a inquest into the UK and US governments handling of the case.
Diplomat Anne Sacoolas claimed immunity and never stood trial in the UK over Harry's death.
The Dunn family lawyer Radd Seiger says:
"We're almost five years since Harry died. We don't want anyone to suffer the way that this family has, and that's why news of this is so important.
"Was he distracted, or was he focused on his own problems rather than serving his country, are some of the questions, but we're deeply suspicious of a toxic environment at the Foreign Office at the time.
"There has to be an inquiry into how the Government responds to a bereaved family, not just in these circumstances but anybody who wants assistance. Why did they blank us and not do their duty.
"I look at things happening in the world domestically and globally and Harry Dunn remains top of Labour's agenda."
