A man is due in court later charged in connection with the seizure of £10 million worth of suspected cocaine in County Armagh.

The suspected drugs were found hidden within boxes of frozen meat in a lorry last week.

At the time of the seizure, the PSNI described it as the “largest seizure of suspected cocaine in Northern Ireland by the Police Service of Northern Ireland.”

The latest update from the PSI said, “Detectives from the Police Service’s Organised Crime Branch have charged a 38-year-old man following last week’s significant seizure of suspected Class A drugs in the Jonesborough area.”

“He has been charged with a number of offences, including possession of Class A controlled drugs, driving while disqualified and paying for sexual services.”

“The man is due to appear before Newry Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Wednesday 20th December.”

“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
