Man arrested following early morning incident in north Belfast
A man has been taken to hospital with injuries which are described as serious but not life-threatening following an assault in north Belfast.
It happened just after 5 o'clock on Sunday morning in the Forthriver Road area - during which the victim was struck by a vehicle.
A police spokesperson said: "It was reported that a man had been assaulted by another man who was armed with a knife.
"One man was subsequently taken to hospital with injuries which at this time are believed to be serious but not life-threatening."
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
Police are appealing for information.
