A house in County Louth is being searched today as part of the investigation into the disappearance of an 8 year old boy who’s missing and presumed dead.

A murder probe was launched last week over Kyran Durnin's disappearance.

He was reported missing in August but it’s believed he may have last been seen two years before that.

A statement from Gardaí said “Yesterday, Monday 21st October 2024, acting under a District Court Order, Gardaí investigating the disappearance of Kyran Durnin took possession of a private house in Dundalk. “

"Commencing today, that house will be searched and be subject of technical and forensic examinations, as will the garden and adjoining ground to that house.”

“The purpose of these searches are to discover any evidence which might provide us with information as to Kyran's current whereabouts or what has happened to Kyran.”
