Fire rips through former nightclub in Limavady
Firefighters have spent the evening tackling a large fire at a former nightclub in Limavady.
It broke out on Catherine Street, opposite the fire station.
A statement from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service yesterday evening said, “NIFRS was alerted to the fire at 17:42 hours on Thursday 30 May 2024. The fire involves three buildings.”
“There are currently 8 fire appliances in attendance, 1 aerial appliance and a command support unit.”
“Operations will continue for some time, and local residents are advised to stay away from the area and keep windows and doors closed while the incident is ongoing.
“Firefighters are working as quickly as possible to extinguish the fire and make the scene safe.”
