Thunderstorms expected in NI as Met Office issues yellow weather warning

Thunderstorms are expected across Northern Ireland today as the September heatwave continues this weekend.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for most parts of NI, it's in place from 2pm this afternoon to midnight.
Yesterday was the 6th day in a row the UK has recorded a temperature over 30 °C, with Heathrow recording 32.7 °C
What to expect:
⛈️ Flooding of homes and businesses could happen quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
⛈️ Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
⛈️ Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
⛈️ Some communities might become cut off if roads flood
⛈️ Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
⛈️ Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life

Today: A dry and bright morning with some sunny spells, any mist patches soon clearing. During the afternoon, heavy and thundery showers could develop, especially in the east. Still very warm. Maximum temperature 23 °C.
Tonight: Any heavy and thundery downpours clearing into the Irish Sea later this evening. However, further rain pushing in from the west overnight. Winds mainly light. Minimum temperature 12 °C.
Monday: Showers or longer outbreaks of rain, but some drier and brighter spells developing in the afternoon. Fresher than of late, light to moderate west or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Mainly dry and bright on Tuesday and early Wednesday, then rain later on Wednesday. Bright with a scattering of showers on Thursday.
