Temperatures to dip to -4°C across Northern Ireland tonight

It’s a cold and dry week ahead for many, the Met Office expect temperatures to dip below freezing this evening for most.

It looks like Scotland could dip to -9°C and -6°C in rural Wales overnight tonight as the UK experiences much colder temperatures than recent weeks.

Towards the weekend, a cold front from the north could introduce the risk of showers for some.

A yellow weather warning was in place this morning for countries Down and Antrim.

This Evening and Tonight: It will be mostly dry with clear spells. Rather cloudy at times across Country Down.with still a few light showers. The clearer skies and light winds will lead to a widespread sharp frost and some icy patches.. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Tuesday: Most places will have a dry day with clouds breaking to give some sunshine. Just the chance of the odd light shower remaining over County Down. Light east winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:Wednesday rather cloudy but most staying dry. Thursday dry with sunny spells and light winds. Friday dry, sunny for most, but cloudier later across far north with patchy rain possible.
