Swords and zombie knives found in Kettering estate
A number of knives and weapons have been seized
Knives and other weapons have been seized by officers during a crackdown on the Highfield estate in Kettering.
Neighbourhood police have been carrying out stop searches and increased patrols in the area
It's part of a crackdown on areas most affected by crime and anti-social behaviour.
Officers say the operation, named 'Clear Hold Build', led to a number of arrests and weapons being confiscated.
A Northamptonshire police spokesperson said:
"A zombie knife, a gold-handled machete, a 60 centimetre sword, a dagger and a combat knife were among the items seized following proactive patrols and enforcement activity by officers working on the Highfield estate.
"The Clear Hold Build team, led by Sergeant Jay Cheema, has been focusing on this area of Kettering for the past six months."
That's after concerns were raised by the community about drug dealing, serious violence and anti-social behaviour.
Northamptonshire police are urging anyone in possession of a zombie knife or ninja sword to hand them in, or be arrested.
