Vigil taking place in Corby this evening to remember Harshita Brella
Local people are meeting at the Corby Boating Lake, at 5.30pm
A torchlit vigil is taking place at the Corby Cube this evening to remember Harshita Brella.
The 24-year-old's body was found in the boot of a car in east London earlier this month.
A post-mortem examination found she died from strangulation.
Police believe Harshita was murdered in Northamptonshire by her husband Pankaj Lamba - who'd also been arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse, just weeks before she died.
IOPC regional director Derrick Campbell said it was investigating after Northamptonshire Police referred itself to the watchdog.
An international manhunt is under way to find Mr Lamba. It's believed he's fled the UK.
Local MP Lee Barron has posted on X that he 'will continue to raise this tragic murder in Parliament'
