Two men jailed for a combined 14 years for Northampton drugs supply network
In total, up to £30,365 worth of class A drugs were recovered by police
Two men have been jailed in connection with Class A drugs supply in Northamptonshire.
From May 2023 to January 2024, Karl Tyler Williams, aged 29, and Jordan Maciness, aged 32, were the subjects of an investigation led by Northamptonshire Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Team (SOCT).
Known as Operation Firebrand, the investigation focused on the organised supply of class A drugs in the county and surrounding areas.
Four enforcement phases resulted in significant seizures of cocaine, cash and high value goods, with Williams arrested three times as enquiries progressed.
Maciness was used as a runner by Williams and assisted him in the supply of cocaine in and around the Corby area, and on November 2023, a vehicle Maciness had rented was found to contain 81 wraps of crack cocaine.
In total, up to £30,365 worth of class A drugs were recovered by police, including one seizure at a storage facility in April 2023 and another at a lodge in a pub outbuilding in November 2023.
Williams and Maciness, both of no fixed abode, were each charged with one count of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, with Williams also charged with offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
After pleading guilty to the offences at Northampton Crown Court in February, both men returned to the same court last week (May 30) where Williams was sentenced to 14 years in prison and Maciness was sentenced to four years in prison.
Detective Inspector Carrie Powers, of the Serious and Organised Crime Team, said: “This was a complex investigation which involved a lot of hard work and teamwork from different departments across Northamptonshire Police.
"The investigation identified that Williams was involved in the supply of cocaine, using the aliases and identities of other people to rent accommodation and to transfer money earned from his crimes.
"In addition to this financial investigation and open-source research, it was obvious Williams was living beyond his means and this was as a result of the significant amount of drugs he was supplying.
" Maciness was identified later in the investigation, and I am pleased that he has also been dealt with for his role in this drugs enterprise.
"Everyone involved in this investigation, and in particular DC Roe and DC Allan, have shown complete dedication and professionalism in securing the convictions of these two men and I am glad that the sentences given reflect the gravity of their offending.”
