The family of a Corby holidaymaker killed whilst on a weekend seaside break in Skegness have paid tribute.

33-year-old Anthony David Robertson of no fixed address has been jailed for 31 years at Lincoln Crown Court over the murder of 59-year-old Charles McGhee Adair.

During sentencing the judge called the circumstances in which the Northamptonshire man died, a ‘ferocious attack’ in July 2023 following a night out.

His family say:

"Charlie was 59 years old when he was tragically taken from us during a weekend away in Skegness. We are so numb and trying to process this loss is unbearably painful.

"Charlie was funny without even realising it which was part of his charm. He was the life and soul of the party and loved telling his stories regardless of who was listening and this always ended up with us doubled up laughing.

"Charlie was taken from us so cruelly and we are left to suffer this tremendous loss. The future is daunting and any road to healing is a long one.

"Charlie shall always be loved and remembered for being the friendly, funny, charismatic, and genuine family man that he always was."
