As the clocks have changed and the temperatures plummet Northants Police are sharing some top tips on how to keep yourself and your house safe.
Officers say they see a higher number of burglaries over the winter months, believed to be because it gets darker, earlier.
Northants police are asking people to:
- Keep a light on when you go out
- Invest in an alarm system
- Lock all windows and doors, even when you're at home
- Don't leave valuable items on display
