A 17-year-old boy, who appeared before Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday (February 14th), is being charged in connection with a serious assault in the town last week.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons because of his age, was arrested after a 68-year-old woman sustained a stab wound to her leg during an incident in Foskitt Court South, Bellinge, last Wednesday February 12th.

He was subsequently charged with two counts of Section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

At Friday’s hearing, he was remanded into secure accommodation.

He's due to appear again on Tuesday, February 18th, this time before Wellingborough Magistrates’ Court.
