Northamptonshire’s new Shadow Cabinet minister says he's looking forward to his position of office.

Stuart Andrew has been appointed by incoming Tory leader Kemi Badenoch as Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.

The Daventry member of parliament has been telling us he's aware how last week's announcement of National Insurance increases will impact lots of organisations.:

"That will have a significant impact on smaller and medium sized charities, who are just recovering from the recent spate of increases in energy bills.

"Many provide a service that if the Government were to do would cost potentially billions of pounds.

"I am looking forward to taking on this role and embarking on this challenge, where we'll look to hold the Government to account.

"It's an area of much interest to me personally, the charity sector, making sure people are active and enjoy sport, but also there's the loneliness agenda and helping young people.

"These are all things which I care passionately about."
